Grande Reserve Elementary School Families,

It was a short week, and yet, so very busy! :) Our on-site students participated in successful evacuation (fire) and severe weather (tornado) drills. The students did amazing by staying calm during the severe weather drill and exiting the buidling quickly during the evacuation drill. Ask you child(ren) how it went? Or what their favorite part was? We will continue practicing our drills throughout the year.

Parent/Teacher Conference links were sent out last week. Please sign up for a conference with your child’s 1st quarter teacher if you have not already done so. You will be receiving a ZOOM link from your child(ren)'s teacher to join the conference on Thursday, 11/5 or Friday, 11/6.
Every year, Yorkville 115's Bilingual Parent Advisory Council puts on an event to commemorate Día de los Muertos. This year, the festivities will consist of two parts: a virtual presentation featuring information, projects, videos, stories, songs, and more, all produced by our Yorkville students; and a drive-in movie screening of The Book of Life, which will take place on November 6. As the details are being finalized, we will share more information on the District BPAC website, as well as Y115 social media. If you have any questions, please contact Theron Garcia, BPAC President at [email protected] or Mike Camp, Coordinator for Bilingual and EL Services, at [email protected].

If you will be traveling outside of the Continental US, please notify the office ASAP, as all family members will need to quarantine for 14 days upon return.
