Last Friday, our U.S. Congressional Rep. María Elvira Salazar and her team joined Mayor Tim Meerbott and Town Manager Rafael Casals at Town Hall to learn about some of the projects and topics in our community that would benefit from assistance at the federal level.

Topics covered included the need for COVID-19 vaccines for our most vulnerable population, opportunity zones and the creation of jobs in our area, Biscayne Bay and the environment, and many other important topics and Town priorities.

The meeting was followed by a tour of the Town, with a special stop at the 8.43 acres of buffer land adjacent to the Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands Restoration Project that were acquired last year for resiliency purposes.

Congresswoman Salazar and her staff are providing residents with office hours every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., right here in the Town of Cutler Bay Town Hall. Residents may schedule an appointment by calling (305) 668-2285. Appointments may be held in person at Town hall or virtually.
