Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day ! | |
The impact Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had on the world is everlasting. His leadership, strength, resilience, compassion and determination is inspiring and felt across the nation. His passion for change, justice and the equality for all helped to shape our current culture and the values we all share today.
As we take the day to remember Dr. King, his beliefs and his many accomplishments, we can also remember to follow in his footsteps the remaining days of the year. As workforce development professionals, we too have the opportunity to make a lasting impact and empower change.
"We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." - Martin Luther King Jr.

January is National Poverty
Awareness Month
| |
The U.S. Census Bureau's Current Population Survey, concluded that the poverty rate was at 11.6 percent, with almost 37.9 million people in poverty. Most of these people are in low-incomed jobs that do not provide enough to support their family and have little to no hope for a better future.
It is important to raise awareness of the poverty in America, so that more people can find the resources available to them and receive the assistance needed to get them out of poverty.
