Gravatt Family Day Postponed until the Spring
Our family day at Gravatt is being postponed until the spring, and will not take place this Saturday, September 18 as had been planned. This fall is a busy time for both Camp Gravatt and Trinity, and a new date in the spring that will work better for all will be announced as soon as it is available. We apologize for the last-minute postponement of this event, but please stay tuned for the new date coming in Spring 2022!
Upcoming Bazaar Drop-offs: September and October
There are two remaining Bazaar drop-offs before the event itself takes place on November 13. Bring your items on Saturday, September 18 and Saturday, October 9 to the workshop in the Trinity Center from 9 am - noon. If you have any questions, please contact the Bazaar chairs.
Psalms for Daily Living Bible Study
The Psalms for Daily Living Bible Study will continue this fall, resuming this Sunday, September 20, at 5:30 pm via Zoom. Please join us!

The group will continue their study of the Book of Psalms, starting with Psalm 74. Our study will help us read and understand the Psalms, and gain experience with the Psalter. We will begin each meeting with discussion about who wrote the Psalms, their place in worship, and the structure of the Psalter. The Psalm by Psalm format for our discussion will continue each Sunday.

We are using Psalms by the Day by Alec Motyer to examine a verse-by-verse method for savoring the richness of the scripture. Psalms by the Day offers a new translation and a fresh in-depth opportunity for spiritual growth. Copies of Psalms by the Day are available for purchase on Amazon to ship directly to your home. Please don't worry if the copy you purchase doesn't arrive in time for the first session.

Contact Rusty Miller for the Zoom credentials to join the study: rustymiller36@gmail.com or 803.466.0702.
High School Girls' Bible Study
The High School Girls' Bible Study is now underway for the 2021-2022 school year! All girls in grades 9th - 12th are invited to join the study at Linda Rogers' house (in the backyard) at 7 am each Wednesday. There will be donuts, an interactive lesson, prayer time, and an opportunity for fellowship with each other before heading off to start the school day.

The address is 1507 Heatherwood Road; please head to the backyard when you arrive. All girls who are in 9 through 12 grades are welcome, and do not need to be Trinity members to attend--both Trinity members and non-parishoners alike are welcome. If you have any questions, please contact Clara Koon (clarawthom@yahoo.com).

MORE Justice Meetings in September
Trinity is an important part of the network of faith-based congregations which make up the MORE Justice ministry. Each year, members from over 35 congregations come together to fulfill the scriptural mandate found in Micah 6:8 to “do justice” and make the Central Midlands area a more just place to live for all people.

This work begins with listening to each other in small groups, then coming together to strengthen our connections and powerfully address issues in our community. Please consider joining us for one of these meetings:
  • Sunday, September 26 at 5 pm in the Stirling Room, led by Morgan Lee
  • Sunday, September 26 at 5 pm via Zoom, led by Valerie Moore
  • Thursday, September 30 at 7 pm via Zoom, led by Tricia Morris

Click here to register for a meeting and to receive the Zoom credentials for the 9/26 and 9/30 Zoom meetings. If you are interested, but can't make these dates, please contact Valerie Moore at 803.261.7143.
Wednesday Night Programming
Wednesday Night Programming continues next week. On Wednesday, 9/22 please join us for a delicious supper under the oaks on the Cathedral Lawn at 5:45 pm, and afterwards in the Cathedral for the observation of the Feast of St. Matthew at 7 pm.

The menu for Wednesday, 9/22 is as follows: Wild rice salad with oranges and smoked turkey, roasted vegetables, tossed salad, and a cookie for dessert. The children's menu includes a PB&J sandwich, fruit, and a cookie, or a child-sized portion of the adult meal. Vegetarian options are also available upon request; please note any dietary restrictions when registering.

Registration can be made at trinitysc.org/suppers each week. The form online will close at 5 pm on the day before, Tuesday, each week. If you forget to register, don't worry! Dinner will be available for purchase the night of the supper even for those who weren't able to register ahead of time. Registering in advance does help the kitchen plan, though, so please register if possible. Please know you can still come if you weren't able to get online by the deadline to reserve your meal, too.

If you have any questions, please contact Bibs Babson (bbabson@trinitysc.org).
Sunday Formation for All Ages
Our intergeneration formation offering continues this Sunday at 10 am, between our 9 am and 11 am worship services. In light of the fact that our youngest members are not yet vaccinated, for the time being we will be offering a single Formation gathering for all ages on the Lawn (weather permitting) between the 9 am and 11 am services each week. In the event of rain, we will meet in Satterlee Hall. These intergenerational gatherings will be fun, faith-filled, and COVID-safe for all. We hope to see you then!

Do You Have an Announcement for the Tidings or Bulletins?
If you have an announcement for the weekly Tidings e-newsletter, or for Trinity's bulletin inserts, please click here to submit the request via our portal at trinitysc.org/announcements.

The deadline for any announcements to be placed in the Tidings or our new Bulletin announcement insert is Tuesday at noon. Please send announcements through the form, rather than emailing your request or information to staff.
