Your Safety is Important
Dear Conference Attendees,

I’m so excited that in less than 2-weeks we will all gather in Rancho Las Palmas for the CCCAOE Annual Fall Conference! As you know, the theme this Fall is “Modeling Inclusiveness.” That theme strikes me as especially appropriate as we plan for your arrival. It is no secret that Covid is reasserting itself back into the conversation with regards to travel and safety.

Here are just a couple of things we have planned in response:

For your safety and the safety of others, there will be a mask requirement when indoors, unless of course, you are enjoying one of the fabulous meals we have planned. So, please remember to wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose while indoors and not actively eating.

We will have hand sanitizer located throughout the hotel. Feel free to use it with the same enthusiasm as you might see others enjoy free samples at Costco.

Keynotes will be held in rooms that might feel unusually large with fewer seats per table. That’s because we want to give you plenty of room to spread out so that you can proudly display all your winnings from the ongoing raffles.

My sense of humor aside, I do want to be clear that we are taking your safety seriously and have taken steps that are more fully outlined in the Covid-19 CCCAOE Policy, and the Covid-19 Waiver. Waiver forms will be available on-site or bring your signed waiver to check-in. Be sure to read both documents that are attached, as you are required to either provide verification of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test not longer than five (5) days old.

There’s a reason for all these safety precautions. It’s because we don’t want anything to take away from the exciting events and conversations we have planned for you. From the outstanding lineup of keynote and plenary speakers; to the workshops and breakout sessions; and to the opportunities for self-care, we believe there is something for everyone to enjoy and grow.

Finally, whatever your reason for being excited for this conference, the chance to have face-to-face conversations, to see peers that you haven’t seen in months, the opportunity to gain new knowledge and help students succeed in ways you hadn’t imagined, I stand ready to welcome you. It is my honor as the Executive Director of this amazing organization, working with dedicated staff and the Board of Directors to welcome you back to our Fall Conference. You have been missed.

Looking forward,
