Dear Barlina House Families:
It is truly hard to believe November is gone and here is December. Time sure flies when you are busy and having fun.
Just a reminder about the outside play. We will all need to be prepared to go outside and play. Please remember to bring snow pants, heavier coat, boots, hat and gloves. We do go out as long as the temperature is 20 degrees or above. The children enjoy playing outside with their friends.
Each child will be bringing home their progress reports this month. Even though we do not schedule parent/teacher conferences, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s teacher(s) if you would like to discuss your child’s developmental progress or any other concerns or questions you may have. Teachers are available for phone calls or conferences an hour before class time and also a half hour after. Accommodations can be made if needed.
I hope everyone was able to see the videos that were made for you. Each class had a separate video.
We will start the holiday season off with a bang. On December 17 and 18, we will have a pajama day. Everyone will come to school in their finest holiday pajamas. We will make a fun and exciting day for all.
We hope the children are enjoying school. They are doing great with wearing the masks and being very careful during snack. It has been an amazing year so far. Thank you again for allowing us to be part of their lives.
Though this is an exciting time of the year, it can also be stressful and exhausting for both the parents and children. Family always comes first, so try to do the little things, like baking cookies together, making a special gift for someone and going outside as a family and enjoy the time together. Make the season enjoyable for everyone.
The season of snow, cold and icy inclement weather has arrived bringing with it the possibility of school closings. When School District 47 cancels classes, due to inclement weather, classes at Barlina House will also be cancelled. Remember to check our “RainOut Line” also to see if school is open or closed. District 47 school closings can be found on their web site and are announced on FM Radio 105.5 and TV Station WGN.
The Barlina House staff wish your family a wonderful holiday season, and we look forward to the New Year.
We are closed December 21 to January 1. School will resume on January 4.
Sincerely,
Donna Maccrindle, Barlina House Director
