Adrienne’s Search for
Children’s Cancer Cure
Adrienne is a cancer survivor, community philanthropist, and champion of Kids and Teens programs at CSCRB. Her positive spirit and compassion for others shines through as she generously continues to give back to the local community every year. 2021 marked the 15th Annual Woman’s Club of Hermosa Beach’s Adrienne’s Search for Children’s Cancer Cure virtual fundraiser which raised $21,000 for CSCRB Kids Community programs. Learn more about Adrienne's search by visiting: adriennespeaking.com
Mark Parella
Climb Against Cancer
Mark’s phenomenal campaign of climbing mountains all over the world to raise funds for CSCRB is detailed on his Climb Against Cancer site. “Climb Against Cancer brings together the inspiration of the outdoors with the selfless act of giving back to the community.” Mark has raised funds for CSCRB programs while climbing Mt. Whitney, the Thunderbolt Traverse, Mt. Shasta, Denali, Everest and in a few weeks will conquer Ama Dablam. His tremendous compassion and strength inspire our cancer community to continue fighting against the disease. Learn more about Mark's climb against cancer here.
Lou Sidella
Row For A Reason
Lou’s passion for fitness and motivating desire to give back after being touched by cancer carries on with the 6th Annual Row For A Reason which just concluded this past weekend. The event, held at his Body One Fitness Redondo Beach location brings out first-time and experienced rowers alike with a common goal to raise funds for CSCRB support programs. Body One Fitness members along with many others in the community enjoyed a fun workout with powerful sense of community. Over the past 6 years, Lou has raised over $100,000 for CSCRB!
Tom Hendrix
Catalina Rugby Festival
Tom carries on his twin brother, Joe’s legacy with a rugby festival held annually on Catalina Island. In 2000, Joe was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had an 11-year battle with his illness. Tom took over the event in 2011 after Joe passed away. Tom found support from CSCRB as a former participant. Since 2000, the Catalina Rugby Festival event has raised over $66,000 for cancer patients and their loved ones.
Inspiring Events
Tour de Pier
The 9th Annual Tour de Pier was held in Manhattan Beach on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021. Over $1M was raised at the event while riders joined together and heard empowering speeches of strength, hope, and support for those touched by cancer. This incredible cycling fundraiser supports The Uncle Kory Foundation, Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, and Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. The CSCRB community came out to ride, volunteer, and support the uplifting event.
