VLA
Upcoming Volunteer Leaders Association (VLA) Meeting and Volunteer Training
Join us at 6:30 pm on November 17th as we discuss safety protocol for returning to face-to-face meetings and programs. We will also discuss the VLA and plans for 2021. This training is open to all 4-H volunteers in Guilford county and all are strongly encouraged to attend.


NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Association represents volunteers involved with the 4-H program. Membership in the Association is open to every 4-H volunteer leader who works directly or indirectly with youth. The educational philosophy is to promote leaders teaming with leaders and growing in leadership through utilization of leadership skills in practical planning, implementation and evaluation.

Guilford County Council Virtual Meeting
Join us at 6:30 pm on November 3rd in Zoom for our monthly meeting. The link will be sent to current members. If you would like to attend the virtual meeting, email Lauren for the link.

All 4-H club officers and teens are encouraged to be a part of county council. The focus of the 4-H County Council is to build our youth into citizen leaders! 4-H'ers target a need, make an action plan and set goals to achieve positive results that will impact the communities of Guilford County.

4-H Fall Moving Challenge
The goal of the North Carolina 4-H "Move-mber" Fall Moving Challenge is to get youth outside and moving. Walk/Hike/Bike for at least 60 minutes per week, for at least four weeks, in November.

Virtual Volunteer 101 Training
This training is provided for volunteers who are new to 4-H. This will be a virtual event hosted by Sarah Kocher in the Caldwell county 4-H office.

The NC 4-H International Exchange program is preparing for Summer 2021 Outbound and Inbound programs. Check out their webpage for more information!

North Central District Winterfest will be December 5th. Keep an eye out for more information! This event will most likely be virtual.

Workshop proposal requests are due by November 5 at 5:00 PM.
November's 4-H Grow Box
November's Grow Box is all about plant propagation. Each box has all youth need to dig in and grow something fun, a magazine sharing the activity details (this was last month's), a supplemental website, a personalized postcard celebrating participation in 4-H.

2021 NC 4-H Volunteer Leaders' Conference
At this time, the NC 4-H VLA is still planning to hold their annual conference in person. It will be February 5 & 6 in Durham.
