FEMA Requesting Public Comment on NFIP's Community Rating System on Floodplain Management

FEMA is seeking public comments on transforming their National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS) program.

The CRS is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices that exceed the minimum requirements of the NFIP. Through this program and the efforts of the Town Council, Staff and Committee Members, Cutler Bay has achieved a CRS Class 4 rating, which provides a 30% discount to flood insurance policy holders located in Special Flood Hazard Areas within Cutler Bay.
