Remember to renew your dues!

Help your Club Treasurer keep your club's finances on the right track - they MUST be submitted to Toastmasters International before October 1st.

Ask your Club Treasurer how you can submit your dues - many are accepting Interac transfer, and some use PayPal (click here for a step-by-step guide to setting up PayPal).

What does it take to become a Hybrid club?

Going Hybrid to handle our members and guests in-house and remotely takes much planning, from what type of hardware to use to the appropriate size of the room.

Bruce Richardson from District 123 walked us through this process. I strongly recommend you watch this workshop. https://youtu.be/oBeeC73P4EM

Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program (YLP) Needs You!

The Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program (YLP) Needs You!

As Toastmasters, we are already wired to bring out the best in each other by mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback. However, the satisfaction achieved mentoring adults increases exponentially when you mentor youths. I believe this is because the YLP is a compact 8-week program and since youths are so impressionable, YLP coordinators get almost instant gratification by seeing youths become better week after week!

Online or in-class, there is no better time than now to become a YLP coordinator as youths are craving social interaction and personal development outside of their regular schoolwork. What’s more? Credit from coordinating a YLP counts towards your DTM award!

The Youth Leadership Program is a workshop consisting of eight one- to two-hour sessions that enable young people under the age of 18 to develop their communication and leadership skills through practical experience. The program is presented during or after school, or on weekends.

The workshops are structured for small group learning and the meetings resemble regular Toastmasters meetings, but they are more fun!

It's official! A new club is forming!

There was a successful kick-off meeting on Saturday, September 25, 2021! The participants in the meeting delivered the value and the benefits of a Toastmasters club, "Inspiring Women Toastmasters."

  • Elton Brown spoke of his wise and strong mom that shaped him into the man he is today in his speech, "My Mom A++."
  • Janet Heidker spoke of taking control during a frightening home invasion in her speech "Not Without My Permission."
  • Marenca Kherani provided educational tips on how to give a compelling presentation using breathing, focusing on the message and audience.
  • Leticia Sanchez led a fun and creative table topic session using objects around the home.
  • They provided a fun networking session using break-out rooms.

I invite you to click on the following link to witness and or participate in developing a new club, "Inspiring Women Toastmasters"

New club leads

Identify a lead that results in a new club chartering by June 30, 2022 to receive a Toastmasters laptop backpack. That lead can come from a fellow Toastmaster, friend, neighbour or relative that wish to form a club at work or at a local community centre (i.e. library, church, social club). If it is to be a corporate club, it needs to have 200+ employees to be viable.

If you have such a lead contact your District 60 Club Growth Director at cgd@toastmasters60.com.

Looking for Pathways training or guidance?

We have an amazing team of volunteer trainers who will provide your club members with Pathways training to put them on the path to success! Simply click here to contact one of the trainers directly. If you have questions, please send an email to pathways@toastmasters60.com.

On our District 60 website with a tab of its own (https://www.toastmasters60.com/) is a plethora (now this is a good word of the day) of fantastic Pathways resources. If you have a question, the answer will be here!

If you are already proficient in Pathways and would like to join our team of Pathways trainers or even create content for the website, please contact our Pathways Chair, Pandora Chung, at pathways@toastmasters60.com.

Annual Conference

Each spring, the District meets to conduct an annual conference that includes a business meeting to elect the new District leadership and the International Speech Contest.

The business meeting and International Speech Contest will be held online. We would also like to have a one-day in-person event that will include educational workshops and a keynote speaker.

The Communication and Leadership presentation (honouring an outstanding non-Toastmaster) and the George Keenan award for an exceptional Toastmaster ... along with great food, camaraderie, laughter and fun!

If you would like to be part of the organizing committee for the one-day event (in April), please contact Andrew Mertens, our Program Quality Director at PQD@Toastmasters60.com.

Keep your club information current for prospective members

Make sure your club's contact information is accurate so you don't miss important club-related items such as prospective-members inquiries or news from World Headquarters. Log into Club Central on the Toastmasters website and make any necessary updates.
