City Accepting Bids For Starr Park — Phase I Project

The City of Forest Park is currently accepting bids from prospective contractors for the Starr Park Phase I Project. The work consists of furnishing and installing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and related services required to complete the renovation of Starr Park, located at 5031 Park Ave.

 

The project scope includes, but is not limited to, a refurbished city park, new walking track, walkways, playground, dog park, sports field and splash pad. Approved plans also feature the construction of three new buildings, three new park pavilions and 347 additional square feet to an existing pool equipment room.

 

Each interested bidder must submit one original and three copies of their bid for the evaluation process in a three-ring binder. Bids should be plainly marked as “Starr Park – Phase I.” Submissions must also include a detailed cost breakdown for each bid in a separate sealed envelope. All bids must be submitted to the city by 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21. Questions must be sent via email to procurement@forestparkga.gov.

City Council Approves New Sanitation Contract With Waste Management

In an effort to help improve sanitation services for residential and commercial customers, the Forest Park City Council approved a new contract with Waste Management (WM). Services outlined in the contract include the collection and disposal of all solid, bulk and yard waste, as well as debris and recycling generated within city limits. Performance penalties that were added to the contract will also be enforced to assist with overall customer satisfaction.

Stay Informed: Sign Up For The City's CodeRED Emergency Alert System

City of Forest Park residents are encouraged to sign up for the CodeRED emergency notification system. In the event of an evacuation, utility outage, water main break, fire or flood, chemical spill or other emergency situation, the city uses CodeRED to send mass notifications by phone, email and text to keep citizens informed. There is NO COST to sign up for the notifications.

Local residents were able to discuss important issues in the Haitian community, while also having the opportunity to meet one on one with elected officials.
