Holding on.
Ask yourself, is holding on important?
Our first instinct is to reply, "yes, it is important". We will likely answer without asking ourselves what it is that we are holding on to. Is this thing we are holding on to healthy for us? Does this thing still serve us? What would happen if we let go?
I am guilty of holding on to things long after their expiration date. I tend to try and salvage what I can from it hoping to breathe enough life into it so whatever "it" is can survive. I do this with just about everything, or I did. I am learning new ways to sit with the "things" and learning to release when expiration seems inevitable.
Learning to let go is not easy.
Holding on is not easy.
There are lessons in both.
This is the season for letting go. Let's look at the things in our life that are no longer serving us and find a way to let them go. Things can be mental, physical, or emotional. "It" can be a relationship, some clutter, a thought process or any number of things.
I encourage you to let it go. Stop holding so tight that you bleed.
I will do the same.
