This is relevant to those that have obtained coverage through the Washington Healthplanfinder (HPF) or directly from an insurance carrier.

For households with active WAH enrollments please review information regarding the April 1 end to Public Health Emergency (PHE) Extensions. This is relevant to households with active WAH coverage.

1095-A correction requests can be submitted here.

Washington Apple Health (WAH) Public Health Emergency (PHE) Extensions Ending April 1

Since the start of the PHE, the Washington Health care Authority (HCA) has been extending WAH coverage for those that would otherwise not qualify based on income.

PHE extensions will end on April 1, 2023. WAH beneficiaries can do the following in preparation of the renewal process:

  • Log into the Washington Healthplanfinder (HPF) to determine the renewal date for household members.

  • Up to 60 days prior to the renewal date, or after receiving renewal information from the HPF and/or HCA, log into Healthplanfinder and click the “Update My Application and Renew My Coverage” link to complete the renewal process.

  • The WAH verification process will resume after April 1 for those with continued eligibility. Be on the lookout for information requests coming from the HCA and/or HPF along with submission deadline dates.

  • Questions regarding WAH eligibility or income verification should be directed to the HCA customer service line:1-800-562-3022.

  • If there is a loss of WAH eligibility and you would like assistance in enrolling on a new health plan, please contact our office.

Reporting any application changes in HPF prior to the renewal date could result in a loss WAH eligibility. We advise contacting the HCA directly for assistance if needing to report any application changes. The HCA can assist if there is a change in eligibility.
