Center for Ethics and Public Engagement (CEPE) presents "9/11 and the Ethics of Memory"
“Never Forget” became a rallying cry following the 9/11 attacks of 2001. It was intended to inspire Americans to remember the horrors of that fateful day and to support actions that would ensure such attacks never happen again.
But how should we interpret this slogan twenty years later? Which aspects of 9/11 are we encouraged to remember, and which to whitewash or forget? How do we bridge the memory gap between those who lived through it, and younger generations? The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement invites the Luther community to reflect on these questions through sponsored lectures, panels, and more.
