The 10th anniversary edition of CHICOS took place at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas last week and welcomed an enthusiastic crowd after a one-year hiatus. The theme of getting back to business and reactivating the Caribbean could be felt throughout the two-day event. The Honorable Philip E. Davis, Prime Minister of the Bahamas and the Honorable I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister of the Bahamas opened the conference on a high note, reiterating that the Bahamas is investor friendly and full of attractive incentives for developers. Parris Jordan, Chairman of CHICOS, echoed the positive sentiment that the region is continuing to rebound through an increase in tourist arrivals and a steady RevPAR, resulting in higher earnings for properties throughout the Caribbean. The tourism-reliant region is well-positioned to recover strongly from the past 18 months. The impressive list of speakers participated in the discussions and demonstrated their continued dedication to the region. Through panels, one-on-one interviews and presentations, the message was clear that the region is resilient. Stay tuned for the announcement of CHICOS 2022.
