LWV OPRF August 10 Week in Preview
We are three-quarters of the way there for membership renewals.  If you use our website for online renewals you will now see a few more opportunities for us to get information on committee involvement and directory disbursements.  You can also print out a copy of the mail in renewal form. And remember, you dues and donations are tax deductible!
Voter Service Information
Our Voter Service Committee will have a virtual meeting on Tuesday, August 18, at 11:00am. We will be discussing ideas for getting information to the community on voter registration and mail-in ballots. All are welcome to attend, so contact Peggy Kell if you are interested. And remember, there now is online training to become a Deputy Registrar. First you need to send your name and address to Peggy Kell, LWV OPRF Voter Service Chair. Then use this link to the Cook County Clerk's Office to take the training. Only sponsored registered voters can take the online training.
Lastly, if you want to request a mail-in ballot, visit the Cook County Clerk's Office here. The last day to request a mail-in ballot will be October 29, 2020.
Oak Park Police Forum
Oak Park Chief of Police, LaDon Reynolds, will be doing a virtual presentation on Illinois policing issues: Community Policing, Use of Force Policies, Routine Officer Training, Police Force Bias, and Ten Shared Principles. There will be time allotted for a Q & A. If you would like to attend send a request here. A Zoom link will be sent before the meeting. This program is affiliated with the LWV study of the Illinois Criminal Justice System. You can read the flyer here.

Suffrage School
Do you know someone that could use a collaborative teaching resource on the history of women and voting in America? Well then visit the Radcliffe Institute's Suffrage School. The #SuffrageSyllabus offers a semester's worth of readings and assignments on the broad topic of women's still-unfinished struggle for full and equal citizenship in the United States. Check it out here.
