Dear Residents -
Yesterday afternoon Governor Cuomo announced an expansion of the “Yellow Zone” into Orangetown, including much of Pearl River. For those in the zone, mass gatherings are limited to 25 people, indoors and outdoors; places of worship are limited to 50% capacity; dining in restaurants, indoor and out, is limited to no more than four persons per table; and schools must implement certain testing requirements. The Yellow Zone is the precautionary level and is the result of a recent rise in the number of positive COVID cases. These restrictions are in addition to the limitation of 10 people at private, at-home gatherings. We all have to make decisions that we think are best for our families – and then we have to live with the consequences. So please, be vigilant – wear those masks, social distance and wash those hands - so that we turn this ship around before we head into the Orange Zone and much harsher restrictions.
Good news for those who have been asking - the Orangetown Highway Department “Drop-Off” Center will be open on Saturdays (except for December 26th) for the rest of 2020 from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. For additional information, please call the Orangetown Highway Department at (845) 359-6500.
If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, stop by Flywheel Park Gazebo in Piermont on Saturday, between 1 pm and 3 pm for a holiday photo shoot! See below for details.
And finally, save the date for the Pearl River Rotary Club’s "Share Christmas and the Holiday's" on Thursday, December 11th and Friday, December 12th. Unfortunately, they will not be doing their annual gathering in Braunsdorf Park due to COVID; however, they will still be driving their holiday floats through the Pearl River neighborhoods. Information to come next week about their Toy Drive.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Please stay safe and remember that we really are all in this together.
Respectfully,
|

Thanksgiving Day Dinner Bags for Veteran's!
|
|
|
On Wednesday, November 18th, the five Town Supervisors announced their first ever county wide Thanksgiving Veterans Dinner Bag giveaway.
What a wonderful coming together of community.
This was made possible due to the hard work of Richie Jarcho, Veterans Angels of Hope and his two major sponsors - Sean Magee of Anchor Trading LLC and Teddy Maldonado of Interstate Toyota.
On Saturday, November 21st, each Town Supervisor, as well as the Village of Sloatsburg, will be distributing a Turkey Dinner, along with all the trimmings, to Veterans in their respective towns.
We expect to give out over 900 Thanksgiving Day Dinner Bags. Each dinner will approximately feed a family of 6.
Special thanks to Alison Bergman of Operation Cookie Drop and Diane Serratore of People to People for the cookies and the extras!

The Orangeburg Fire Department is determined to spread Holiday Cheer this year.
What better way then to mail your letters to Santa in these beautiful mailboxes set up at the Fire House.
The mailboxes will be set up hopefully on all Monday nights from 630 - 8pm and during the toy drive.
If your name and address is on your letters, you will receive a response from the North Pole
There was a Santa sighting last night at the mailboxes. He was removing whatever letters have been dropped off already.
Any questions? Please call the elf hotline at 845-721-4267.
