Campus Ministry will have fun games and faith-formation activities to keep students energized and connected to the BCHS community while at home. No one will want to miss games on Mondays, Liturgy of the Hours on Tuesdays, Cooking with Campus Ministry on Wednesdays, all-school Mass on Thursdays, or small faith groups on Fridays. More information will be sent to students from Campus Ministry via email!

Mr. Kelley and Mr. Patzke will be available during passing periods and office hours for student check-ins and time for pastoral care. Email them to sign-up at spatzke@bishopchatard.org and jkelley@bishopchatard.org!
Trinity Club Rosary: Nov. 20
All parents/guardians are welcome to join the Trinity Club and Campus Ministry for the second Trinity Club Rosary of the year! All are welcome to pray for our BCHS community. If you don't have a rosary or don't know how to pray it, there will be plenty of rosaries and guides for you to participate. The rosary will begin at 7:50 a.m. in the chapel of the Saint Benedict Center. Contact Steven Patzke at spatzke@bishopchatard.org with any questions.
Forget about Black Friday and do Blue Wednesday!
Stop by the BCHS Spirit Shoppe on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. - noon for Blue Wednesday! The spirit shoppe will offer 10% off of your entire purchase on this day only, both in the store and online.

The online Spirit Shoppe is open 24/7 all year round and items can be shipped for a flat fee or can be picked up at BCHS during one of the designated pickup times. There will be 4 pickup days/times for any orders made online after this week that cannot be sent home with students:
  • Blue Wednesday from 9 a.m. - noon in the Spirit Shoppe
  • Other dates: Dec. 2, 9 and 16 in the Saint Benedict Center entry-way from noon - 1 p.m.

New merchandise is being added every day in addition to the current offerings of t-shirts and sweatshirts, etc. There are even a few clearance items still available!
Christian Service from Home
The Christian Service Program was adapted this year in the event that BCHS transitioned to virtual learning. The flexibility enables students to fulfill their Christian Service commitment from home. This means that each student can complete all of their hours over thanksgiving and Christmas breaks! We strongly encourage students to make the most of their time at home! See the Christian Service webpage for more information or contact service@bishopchatard.org with any questions.
Thanksgiving Day Meal Project
Bishop Chatard will again be making warm Thanksgiving meals for the David S. Moore Food Pantry and other needy organizations, to be distributed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.
Due to COVID safety concerns and the school going to full virtual instruction, plans have changed for this event. The meal will be prepared by the BCHS cafeteria staff, and then delivered by our parent volunteers.
  • Thank you to our many volunteers! We were overwhelmed with the generous gift of your time. All who signed up to volunteer for meal preparation should have received an email about our change. Those who signed up as drivers will still be needed.
  • Thank you to all who became a sponsor for the meals with a monetary donation. Your generosity too was overwhelming, and helped make these meals possible.
  • If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact event coordinator, Jackie Noll at janoll@sbcglobal.net.

Become a sponsor!
Become a turkey sponsor or green beans, potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce or stuffing sponsor! Various levels of sponsorship are available through a monetary donation.
Drive Through our Christmas Wonderland!
Bishop Chatard alumni, friends, school families and North Deanery community members: bring your little ones to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at Christmas on Crittenden on Friday, Dec. 4, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Hop in the car, crank up the holiday tunes and take a drive through our ‘Christmas Wonderland’.

A portion of our parking lot will be transformed into a wonderland of lights and Christmas inflatables. Santa & Mrs. Claus will be waving to you as you near the end and a few surprises will be passed out along the way. Print the Letter to Santa from our website and have your little ones complete it and hand it to Santa! To keep everyone properly distanced at the event, we ask that you & your family remain inside your vehicle at all times.

This is a free event, but donations to support Christmas on Crittenden are always appreciated. Questions? Contact Kelly Stuhldreher, Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Special Events, at kstuhldreher@bishopchatard.org.

News Worth Repeating
Blood Drive in Honor of Jack Shockley: Nov. 29
As you may know, Jack Shockley, BCHS Class of 2014, was killed on August 12 of this year. Though Jack is one of our own, he is just one example of the violence that is happening in Indianapolis this year. As of October 19, there had been 165 criminal homicides in Indianapolis in 2020. That is a 43 percent increase over 2019. In addition, there have been 480 non-fatal shootings this year, which is a 40 percent increase over last year.

There is a severe shortage in our blood supply, and part of that shortage can be attributed to the record-setting violence in our city. Any amount of violence is too much. Help us mitigate the unwarranted loss of life by ensuring that we have the blood supply to help the victims of this senseless violence. Donate a pint of your blood so that others can live. Let’s honor Jack by making a difference for the other victims of violence in Indianapolis.

  • Sunday, November 29
  • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Advertise your business in the Citadel yearbook
In years past, our Yearbook staff was able to visit many businesses to sell ads for the yearbook. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it has limited the staff's ability to visit many of the businesses we normally rely on for advertising. The revenue we generate from ad sales is reinvested in the yearbook through the purchase of more color pages, a more intricate yearbook cover, or new equipment.

If you or your business would be interested in purchasing an ad in the yearbook, please reach out to publication advisor Troy Cockrum at tcockrum@bishopchatard.org. The students can design your ad or you can design your own ad. Click here for more information!
COVID-19 student reporting procedure
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 or is quarantining due to COVID-19 exposure, please contact BCHS using the email address medical@bishopchatard.org. A list of information to be provided in that email is available on the BCHS Virtual Learning Hub page.

Please note that the medical@bishopchatard.org email address is to be used only to report COVID-19 positive test results or quarantining due to exposure, and report COVID-related absences. Standard school procedures should still be used to report a daily absence for COVID-19 or for other reasons, or to ask health-related questions. View Bishop Chatard's standard procedure for reporting absences here.
