In this workshop, we will explore ways to create a more inclusive and welcoming school environment for all students. We will focus on the concept of culturally responsive teaching by learning strategies for incorporating diverse perspectives and experiences into the curriculum and school community. We will also explore techniques for facilitating respectful and open-minded discussions around difficult or controversial topics. We will examine ways to recognize and challenge our own biases and assumptions, and to create a sense of belonging and support for all students. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own teaching practices and to develop a plan for promoting inclusivity and belonging in their classrooms. This workshop is designed to help educators create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students.

Participants will explore the following:

  • What is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging?
