Test Day 2021
Tuesday, Oct 19, 2021, 8:00am - 11:30am

What happens on Test Day?
Freshmen and sophomores will take the preACT -- a practice ACT designed for 9th and 10th graders. This test will be given at no cost to all freshmen and sophomores. No prep is needed. Details will be provided in the coming weeks.
Juniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT (no writing) at Xavier High School. Xavier is offering this optional ACT so that our juniors have one ACT that is guaranteed to occur despite potential COVID-related limits at other ACT test sites.  We have heard of no upcoming closures at national test sites, so juniors may certainly wait until later in the year to take the ACT. Scores from this October 19 test can be used for college applications. A test prep class will be offered especially for this test date.
Seniors may also take the October 19 ACT at Xavier, if they wish. If they do not take the ACT, they should work on other college-related activities that morning, such as their applications and essays.

How do juniors and seniors register for the October 19 ACT?
By September 17, juniors and seniors need to use this google form to place their names on the list.
The $48 test fee may be paid by cash, check (made out to ‘XCS’), or by emailing Karen Bendel at [email protected] to request payment via Smart Tuition. Cash and checks should be delivered to Lisa Hansen at Xavier High School. Test fee waivers are available to students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. See your counselor for a waiver.

Ethel Moehring Help Your Neighbor Day
On the afternoon of October 19, all students and staff will be participating in our annual Help Your Neighbor Day, where we go out into the community for an afternoon of service. We need parent drivers to make this event happen. You are assigned a small group of students to work with for the afternoon (you'll be done by 3). If you are able to be a group leader for this amazing day, please contact Kate Geenen, Campus Minister.
Xavier Spirit Day
Mr. Riley, Dr. Ravizza and our campus principals want to recognize the cooperation of our students & staff in making this a great start to the new school year. Therefore, we are declaring a System-wide Xavier Spirit Day this Friday, September 3rd. This will be a casual day and we are encouraging students to dress in their favorite Xavier spirit wear.  Go Hawks!
Celebrate Volunteer Meeting
Celebrate is the largest, single event fundraiser for Xavier Catholic Schools. All parents/guardians are invited (and encouraged) to volunteer as this event is a system-wide effort benefiting the entire school system. It is also a great way to get to know parents from other campuses. The evening typically features a dinner, live and silent auctions, raffles and games, entertainment, etc. Last year it was a successful virtual event that raised over $560,000. This year we are planning a hybrid experience.

Celebrate meetings are held once a month. This year’s kickoff meeting will be held on Thursday, September 16 at noon at in the library Xavier High School (we will have people there giving directions to the library). At that meeting we will discuss the optimal meeting dates and times moving forward.

Please plan to join us to brainstorm and have some fun while we come together, catch up, and meet new friends. It takes many helping hands to make Celebrate a successful event and we really need great volunteers who want to have fun while getting things done. The meetings are also a great way to provide input and suggest any ideas you have. Children not in school yet are always welcome.
Bonus: there is always chocolate!

Questions or can’t attend, but still want to be involved? Contact Lisa Pfaff at [email protected] or 735-9380.
