The 22nd Annual KISS Country for Kids Radiothon Raised $104,342!
The 22nd Annual KISS Country for Kids Radiothon took place October 7–9, 2020. These three days were filled with incredible enthusiasm from sponsors, donors, volunteers and the team at 93.7 KISS Country and the community. The combined efforts made this year's event a success, raising $104,342 for the kids treated at Valley Children's. Thank you to the amazing staff and DJs at 93.7 KISS Country, who interviewed the families and spoke about their own personal connections to Valley Children's. We truly appreciate the many gracious families who took time to tell their remarkable stories, the volunteers who kindly gave their time to answer phones, Derek Carr for donating auction items and the people who generously donated this year.

Valero Energy Foundation Delivers an Unexpected Gift
We are thrilled to receive this unexpected charitable donation of $20,000 from Valero Energy Foundation through the 2020 Valero Texas Open and Benefit for Children, even though the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. This generous gift will support Child Life Services at Valley Children's Hospital. More than ever, we are grateful for Valero’s support and so proud to be a charity partner this year. Fresno Rotary Supports Childhood Cancer Survivorship
Rotary Club of Fresno has generously provided Valley Children's with several grants totaling $146,322 since 1980. We truly appreciate their most recent $20,000 donation that will support the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program. This donation will fund printing of the Survivorship Program's PhotoVoice book, which is a compilation of Valley Children's childhood cancer survivors' stories told through both words and photographs on topics related to their cancer journey. This generous donation will also make possible our first-ever “Survivor Welcome Bag.” When a child completes his or her treatment, the patient is surrounded by family and staff and ring a bell, which signifies the beginning of their new journey as a survivor. At this moment, the child will be given a “Survivor Welcome Bag” that includes a t-shirt, tote, water bottle, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen. This donation will support the purchase of 200 “Survivor Welcome Bags.”

The President's Fund: Virtual Member Reception
The President's Fund Annual Member Celebration was held virtually on October 27, 2020. The virtual event allowed members and guests to more closely engage in the funding of the innovation process by hearing directly from physicians and staff who were project applicants. After project presentations, the audience was able to ask questions directly to the presenting teams and engage in dialogue with these talented clinicians. We thank the President's Fund members for being a part of this exciting program, and the presenters for all their hard work and innovative ideas to better care for Central Valley kids.
