Dear Parents,

On Sunday we're beginning a new sermon series called "Stories of Faith." Over the next several weeks, we will reflect on how the stories in the Bible shape our faith and our lives. At the same time, Children's Sunday School will focus on some of the important stories of our faith.

Stories are powerful. They have a way of inviting us in and allowing us to find ourselves in them. They can teach us things about who we are and who we want to be. And they can challenge us in our faith and in our lives.

As we go throughout these next few weeks, I would invite you to continue to reflect on the various stories you are hearing each week, either in worship or in Sunday School. Talk as a family about what parts of the stories are exciting or scary. Consider what parts are inspiring and maybe even how the stories might challenge us to act differently.

And perhaps these stories become a way for you to talk about your story. What events have shaped your life? Where has God shown up for you?

May we all find ourselves in these stories, in God's story as we live as God's people in the world today.

Grace and peace,

Kimmy

Family Devotion
At Home
Click here for a family devotional from Illustrated Ministries. This week's message comes from Psalm 150 and is about praising God.

Because we are starting a sermon series in worship, these resources will no longer have a direct connection to worship, but they remain a wonderful resource for family devotions.
Send Some Love!
As we prepare to bless the school year, we know that our teachers need an extra blessing too!

Your child will soon be receiving some special mail reminding them that they are loved as they prepare to return to school, whatever that might look like.

Included in the package will be a pre-addressed and pre-stamped postcard that we would like for your child to color, write a simple note, then drop in the mail. Please make sure your postcard gets put back in the mail!
Sunday School Returns!
Sunday, August 9
Sunday School is back! I am excited to announce that Dan and Perri will be returning as our Sunday School teachers! Sunday School videos will be available on Facebook and on our website. On our website, you will also find additional resources if you are interested.

And save the date! On Sunday, August 16 at 12:30pm, Dan and Perri will host a Zoom gathering for our children and parents to celebrate the new year!
Blessing the Year
THIS Sunday, August 9 at 11:00am
We know this year will begin differently than most others, with different dates, different methods, different rules, and even different roles. But we also believe that God is present in the midst of this new beginning, strange as it might be.

As part of worship on Sunday, August 9 we will bless this school year, so be sure to tune in on Facebook Live!
Healing hARTS
Anytime
For our church family members in need of a healing touch during this season, we're inviting our children to draw a picture or write a note to someone who might need it.

If your child is willing to draw a picture or write a note, email me and let me know how many drawings your child would like to create and I will send you addresses.

Thanks for helping to care for our whole church family!
Snacks Needed
This summer we've been providing sandwiches to kids in our community through the YMCA. Now, we're trying to add snacks too!

You can sign-up for a day to deliver at least 25 individually wrapped snack bags to the Covington YMCA (think Goldfish, Cheez-its, etc.).

Sign up here by clicking here.
