Sultan Farmers Market

The Sultan Farmers Market was started in 2021 by a group of locals who wanted to create a community venue to showcase all the farmers and artisans in the Sky Valley.

Every week the market brings all fresh and locally produced and handcrafted items.

Our Youth Market weekend is the First Saturday of the Month; young entrepreneurs, ages 8-18, are offered a discounted rate to join the market to sell their goods in a safe, fun environment.

For immediate release: Bolt Creek Fire Fundraising Updates

In an unprecedented emergency event, on September 10, 2022, at 5:10 am, a wildfire started in the foothills near Skykomish, Washington, and quickly spread through the surrounding forest area. The Bolt Creek Fire continued to burn over the next six weeks, threatening the surrounding communities and the US 2 Highway corridor. The fire consumed almost 15,000 acres of land. The impacts from this fire will be felt for years to come, but most acutely by our businesses as they endured road closures and loss of access to the recreation areas that draw the recreational tourism that fuels this beautiful scenic byway.

On behalf of the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce and our partners Economic Alliance Snohomish County, Coastal Community Bank, The Boeing Company, Puget Sound Energy, Angel Of The Winds Arena, City of Sultan, Washington - Government, Crosswater Community Church, and Private Donors, we are pleased to report that we were able to award twelve businesses/organizations a grant from the private funds raised in support of Sky Valley businesses. Each company was awarded $1500.00 to help them recover from the impacts of the fire and highway closures. In addition, with early funds, we could provide direct assistance to citizens during the fire evacuation period who needed help with lodging, food, gas money, etc.

We have also worked with other agencies, Snohomish County DEM, City of Monroe, WA, Washington State Department of Commerce, U.S. Small Business Administration, Washington Emergency Management Division, and the Governor’s Office to get our area designated an Economic Disaster Relief Area, which allows the area businesses access to apply for low-interest SBA loans. https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/

The Sky Valley Chamber, along with our partners, stepped up to bring attention to the region, our community, and the impacts of the fire and highway closures on our business community. We are grateful for the support and generosity of the outstanding citizens of Washington.
