Celebrating 48 Years of Staffing Excellence!
|
|
In Wisconsin, 3,711,631 people or 63% of the state has received at least one dose.
Overall, 3,426,672 people or 58% of Wisconsin's population has been fully vaccinated. Wisconsin residents 65 and older account for the highest percentage of those vaccinated.

|
On November 5th, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released an emergency temporary standard (ETS), mandating that companies with 100 or more employees require their employees to either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or submit to weekly COVID-19 testing and wear masks at work.
|
|
One day later, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay of the ETS citing “grave statutory and constitutional issues” with the standard. In addition, several states have announced that they will be filing litigation against the ETS. Despite these legal challenges, legal experts are advising employers to prepare to meet the standard's compliance deadlines in the event that the standard is upheld.
As a company with well over 100 employees, Flex-Staff will be required to comply with this ETS, if upheld. It is our intention to allow our internal staff and our assigned employees the option to either get vaccinated, or to test weekly and wear masks as required.
For Flex-Staff clients that institute their own vaccine mandates, Flex-Staff will assist with compliance for any Flex-Staff assigned employees.

Thanksgiving DOs and DON'Ts
|
DO look for quicker and easier ways to prepare the meal. A countertop roaster oven will cook a turkey in less time than a full-size oven, and use less energy. A pressure cooker is a hassle-free way to cook regular or sweet potatoes. (You can even cook a smaller turkey in a pressure cooker.)
DO think about friends or family members that may not have a place to gather on Thanksgiving, or the time or resources to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Invite them to join you for dinner.
DO accept help, so you don’t have to do it all yourself. Preparing the main course yourself, and asking each guest to bring a side or dessert will make meal planning and prep much less stressful.
DO take a break for a little exercise between the meal and dessert. A nice walk will not only burn off a few calories, but you’ll feel less full, and enjoy dessert much more.
DON’T be afraid to stray from the traditional Thanksgiving menu. After all, it’s not about what you’re eating, it’s what you’re thankful for, and spending time with friends and family.
DON’T overdo it! Easier said than done when everything looks and tastes so good, but sticking to reasonable portion sizes will allow you to sample everything without feeling more stuffed than the turkey.
DON’T go overboard with the menu. Trying to prepare too many options can wear you out physically and mentally. Keep things simple and focus on quality over quantity.
DON’T waste any leftovers. Eating turkey for two weeks after Thanksgiving can get a bit boring, but turning that leftover turkey into turkey casserole, turkey pot pie, or turkey soup is a great way to add variety to the after Thanksgiving menu, eliminate wasted food, and save both time and money.

Consumer Sentiment Hits
10-year Low on Inflation Fears
|
The University of Michigan’s preliminary November consumer sentiment index decreased to 66.8 from 71.7 in October.
Economists polled by Bloomberg had forecast an increase in the index to 72.5. Consumer sentiment unexpectedly collapsed in early November on rising concerns about higher prices and the inflationary impact on people’s finances.
November’s preliminary current conditions index dropped to 73.2, the lowest level since 2011, while the expectations index decreased to 62.8, which was the weakest level since 2013. Consumers expect inflation to rise 4.9% over the next year, the highest level since 2008.
