A Message from the Principal

Good Morning Everett Families,

Please excuse this early morning notification to prepare you for the plan that will take effect starting today. As an outcome of last night’s Board of Education meeting, we will begin an adaptive pause starting today, Wednesday, November 18th, with all of our students engaging in remote learning. Please refer to district-wide communication regarding timelines for fully remote learning for all students.

The following information is being shared as reminders of student expectations and ways to support your child(ren) with responsible use of technology during emote learning.

Responsible Use Agreement:
The Responsible Use Agreement (linked below) is being shared again and we ask that you review the stated points with your child and also consider the additional recommendations:

District 67 accounts include a message monitoring and filtering system called “Securly" which alerts school administrators when it detects potential threats or signs of danger.

Google Meet Expectations:
We will continue to leverage Google Meet for synchronous learning experiences. We have taught all students the Google Meet school-wide expectations and we ask you to review these at home.

Additional Recommendations:
During learning times, have your child work in a designated space that is most conducive to learning/minimizes possible distractions.
Once school work is completed, your child should return the device to you for charging and safe keeping. These devices are meant for educational purposes only.
Review the Responsible Use Agreement with your child.
Discuss appropriate ways to utilize technology as a tool to enhance learning.
Google Chat should only be used for school related purposes, not for socializing with others. Students are to use their school iPad for learning purposes only.

Technology Support:
Please review the iPad Prep Guide for remote learning and the basic items to ensure the iPad is ready to be used.
Please find the Student Troubleshooting Guide. This contains strategies to try before reaching out for support. Should you have questions or need tech related support, please send an email to: [email protected]

As always, please reach out with any questions you have related to your child’s learning needs. Together, with your child’s teacher and the school team, we will do all we can to support your child’s learning during this period. Sincere thanks for your strong partnership and support.

Sincerest regards,

Angela
