Facts from the Stacks
September 2021
The Saint Peter Public Library welcomes all people
and fosters a safe environment to connect, learn, discover, and grow.
“Still, even without the country or a lake, the summer was a fine thing, particularly when you were at the beginning of it, looking ahead into it. There would be months of beautifully long, empty days, and each other to play with, and the books from the library.”
― Edward Eager, Half Magic

Celebrate Banned Books Week: September 28 - October 2
Books unite us. Sharing stories important to us means sharing a part of ourselves. Books reach across boundaries and build connections between readers.

Reading—especially books that extend beyond our own experiences—expands our worldview. Censorship, on the other hand, divides us and creates barriers.
