FY2023 Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE)

CFAR Supplement Announcement:


Now accepting outlines for HU CFAR internal competition!

The NIH (NIAID, NIMH) released a Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) for EHE CFAR Supplements to highlight administrative supplement applications from eligible investigators to support projects that conduct implementation research around evidence-based HIV interventions, care, and treatments tailored to communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.

Through this internal competition, the HU CFAR will select and support the candidacy of three applicants who will be invited to submit their projects to be evaluated by the NIH for funding.

All items for the HU CFAR internal competition must be submitted by Friday, February 10, 2023.

Outline and application requirements/considerations: 

INTERNAL COMPETITION DETAILS

Interested investigators must submit a 1-page single-spaced outline (Arial 11 font size). Outlines will be reviewed by the HU CFAR Developmental & Mentoring Core Review Committee and must include:

- List of lead investigators and institutions

- Application title

- Aim(s)/Objective(s)

- Brief summary of rationale and approach

Submit your outline and relevant application details by COB Friday, February 10, 2023. Your abstract will be reviewed and you will be notified of the committee's decision within 7 business days.

ELIGIBILITY

There is no restriction on NIH Investigator Status (e.g., Early Stage Investigator, New Investigator, etc.).

All US-based project leaders must hold a Harvard appointment. International applicants who do not hold a Harvard appointment must have a Harvard-appointed mentor.

Post-doctoral fellows are eligible to apply if they will assume a faculty position by the time the supplement project and funding begins.

SCIENTIFIC PRIORITIES FOR FY23

1) Syndemic Approaches to HIV Prevention, Treatment or Care

2) Leveraging Pharmacies to Advance HIV Testing, Prevention, and Care

3) Strategies to Improve Linkage to HIV Care and Services Post-Incarceration

4) Cluster Detection and Response Strategies

PLEASE NOTE:

If your application abstract is selected by the HU CFAR internal committee for NIH submission, all application materials will be due to the HU CFAR by and no later than March 13, 2023 to meet internal and NIH deadlines. Final applicants proposing human subjects research must provide confirmation from their respective IRB office that an application has been submitted for IRB approval. An application cannot be submitted to the NIH without this documentation.
