Vegas Robotaxis Will Feature Safety Systems
Motional and Lyft outlined safety systems, including one that forces their autonomous cars to pull over and park, that will be included in their driverless taxis, expected to launch in Las Vegas in early 2023. The city is installing sensors for the cars and Motional doesn’t expect human safety drivers to be necessary while the cars operate.
Survey: More Women Using Scooters
A survey by scooter-share supplier Bird found 46 percent of its shared scooter users are women—at least in Atlanta. That’s a departure from previous studies that found micro-mobility users were overwhelmingly male. Protected lanes would encourage even more people to try shared scooters and bikes downtown, the survey found.
