WKU selects 18 students as recipients of 2023-24 Cherry Presidential Scholarship
WKU has selected 18 students as recipients of the 2023-24 Cherry Presidential Scholarship, the school’s most prestigious academic award. The scholarship is valued at $16,000 annually and worth $64,000 during a four-year period.
WKU faculty member receives grant
Dr. Qingfang Song, Associate Professor of Child and Family Services at WKU, was selected to receive a grant through the Kentucky IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (KY INBRE). The funded project will help researchers investigate the risk and resilience factors in relation to ethnic minority children's stress reactivity to race-based stressors, which can potentially inform practice and programs on racial health disparities. It can also provide research training and opportunities to undergraduate students who are interested in race and health. "I appreciate the great support from KY INBRE to make this study possible," Dr. Song said.

Dr. Vicki Phillips, WKU graduate and Chief Executive Officer of The National Center on Education and the Economy, will make two presentations Tuesday at Gary Ransdell Hall as part of the Wedge Seminar. Student health fair Tuesday
WKU's 2023 Healthy Days, the annual student health fair, will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston Health and Activities Center.

Diversity in Graduate Education Virtual Info Fair
The WKU Graduate School will host a Diversity in Graduate Education Virtual Info Fair from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. today. Join representatives from the Distinguished Minority Fellowship program and the Graduate School to learn more about to learn more about graduate school opportunities and how to apply for admission.
Celebration of the Arts awards ceremony Friday night
The awards ceremony for the 2023 Abound Credit Union Celebration of the Arts will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kentucky Museum. The exhibition will be on display through April 14. More: Kentucky Museum announces 2023 exhibitions
WKU Symphony Concert
The WKU Symphony will present Classical Jazz II at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Van Meter Hall. Special guests include the WKU Jazz Band and guest vocalist Wayne Pope. The concert will feature Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. Tickets are $12.
Pi(e) a Professor
Ogden College of Science and Engineering will celebrate Pi Day early with Pi(e) a Professor on Wednesday to support the WKU Food Pantry. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Colonnade at Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center.
WKU Marketing Workshop Series begins Tuesday
The WKU Marketing Workshop Series will begin Tuesday with Adapting to a Changing Social Media Landscape: Rethinking Content Delivery from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Commons at Helm Library, room 3002. The series will continue March 28 and April 11.
