SS CLASSYJESS' WINNING WAYS PUTS HER A STEP ABOVE THIS GROUP IN THE LIP CHIP LLC STAKES

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, September 25, 2021) – Ss Classyjess won her career 17th tonight in the $50,000 Lip Chip LLC Stakes at Lone Star Park. It was her fifth Lone Star Park win from nine over the surface.

With J. Ignacio Garcia Aboard Ss Classyjess ($4.60) caught a flyer when the gates opened. The 5-yr-old gray mare by Rock Solid Jess out of a daughter of Royal Shake Em, never looked back as she dominated the field of eight. She went off as the 6/5 favorite of the field and didn't disappoint her backers. Final time for the 350 yards was 17.510 seconds, good for a speed index of 99.

Pa Cha Ching out finished Jess Eleven or Seven for the place, followed by Moment of Fury, Ten Sent, Carry the Memories, Dash N Leader and Easy Blinkers. Come N Take It To was a late scratch at the gate.

Ss Classyjess is owned by Edgar Rosales Of Temple, Texas and trained by Jose Carrizales.

Karen Utecht Paint & Appalosa Stakes

Earlier on the card was the $35,000 Paint & Appaloosa stakes named for the late Karen Utecht, former Director of Racing for the American Paint Horse Association.

Favorite Southern Electric ($4.60) was the victor in the field of nine. Ridden by Cody Smith, the 4-yr-old sorrel gelded son of Crm Livewire reached the wire in 17.606 seconds for the 350 yard distance. He was awarded a speed index of 96 for the effort. Vp Cold Strong Heart finished just 1/2 length behind the winner, followed by Snow Advisory, Wn Stevie Nox, Moonpiewire, Seperate Wagons, Live Moonshine, Just Wishn and Js Shezaquickchick completed the order of finish.

Live racing resumes Friday, October 1 at 6:05 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.
