August in Truro...
      August -- starts with summer, ends with a hint of fall. Although we lose an hour of sunlight, our warm surrounding waters keep our average air temperatures almost up to July's.
      According to past records, we expect an average temperature of 69°F, with average lows of 61°F and highs of 77°F. We traditionally get a total of only 2.8 inches of rain (a bit more than July).

Commission on Disabilities
The Commission on Disabilities wants to encourage you to complete the 2020 census! Did you know the census will decide how $675 Billion of federal funds will be allocated for states and communities each year? That includes funding for our Senior Center, public transportation, libraries, education programs, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicare, Medicaid, and temporary assistance for needy families. So far, the response to the Census from Truro residents has been extremely low. Please take a few minutes to answer the 10 census questions soon! Just click this link.
Good Neighbor | Truro
Stay Healthy, Eat Healthy -- Good Neighbor | Truro and Truro Farmers' Market collaborate to get local, fresh foods to homebound Truro residents
Folks in Truro who cannot or should not leave home now can get all produce and other local foods from the vendors at Truro Farmers' Market delivered to your homes. You can order online from Friday morning until Saturday at 5 PM, select the GNT button before you checkout, and a GNT volunteer will deliver it to your home on Monday morning, market day. To place an order, go to shoplocalfood.org, select Truro Farmers' Market, and at the top of the TFM page you will see the GNT option. It is a great way to eat healthy, stay safe, and support local farmers and food purveyors.
Do You Know About Truro TV?
Truro happenings are current. You can be current, also. View your Town Boards' and Committees' sessions from the comfort of your home.  Tune your television to "Truro TV" Channel 18 OR connect online: Truro Town Website www.truro-ma.gov then CLICK "Truro TV Channel 18."   That will take you to this page, where you can also view live-streamed meetings by clicking on the green "Watch" button.
In the event of an emergency...
In the event of an emergency, such as severe weather or a power outage, if a member of your household would require special assistance due to a health condition, please contact the Truro Council on Aging to be added to the Elders of Special Concern program. Participants will be contacted by the Council on Aging or the Truro Police Department to determine if they have adequate supplies in preparing for an emergency. If you live alone, are disabled, use oxygen or other special medical equipment please contact the Council on Aging at (508) 413-9508 to be added to this program. ALERTruro
