What does Florida law say about sales you make over the phone and service work you may perform away from the dealership? There is no doubt that COVID accelerated some changes in sales patterns. Now automakers want you to consider doing mobile service work away from your licensed locations. The brief video below details what Florida law says about sales and service in your market.

SBA settles confusion over PPP forgiveness application
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently released guidance about when PPP loan forgiveness applications are due. Borrowers may submit a loan forgiveness application any time before the maturity date of the loan, which is either two or five years from the loan’s origination, depending on the borrower’s agreement. Loan payments are deferred only until 10 months after the last day of each borrower’s loan forgiveness covered period. Read more here.
VF and MVRIS Dealer License Renewal Time
Florida franchise dealers must renew your VF & MVRIS licenses before December 31, 2020. For questions regarding VF licenses, contact your local/regional Bureau of Dealer Services Office. For questions regarding MVRIS licenses, contact the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. Read more here.
Upcoming System Outage - Dealers need to prepare now
A complete shut-down of all FLHSMV systems is planned for the weekend of November 13-15, from 8pm EST on the 13th through 8am EST on the 16th. Dealers will not be able to process transactions during this time and should be prepared with an adequate stock of pre-printed temporary tags from the Tax Collectors’ office. Read more here.
