The Health Care Collaborative of Rural Missouri is now HCC Network
The Health Care Collaborative of Rural Missouri has changed its name. Now called HCC Network, the rural health nonprofit, based in Lexington, Mo., has clinics in Buckner, Concordia, Lexington, and Waverly, and a school-based clinic in Carrollton.

"It was important that our Network programs and clinical services assumed one name," said HCC Chief Administrative Officer Brook Balentine. "Nothing else has changed. We will continue to provide the same suite of programs and services. We believe HCC Network neatly encompasses our programmatic and clinical offerings."

HCC is also rolling out two mobile health care units that focus on dental and primary care services. The mobile units will be seen throughout Lafayette County and surrounding areas to address access barriers to care. In addition, HCC is also helping individuals enroll in Missouri's expanded Medicaid program offered through MO HealthNet. For enrollment assistance, contact Shelly Harden at 660.214.2869.
Celebrate the #PowerOfRural on National Rural Health Day!
For Carla Gibson, REACH Healthcare Foundation VP of Programs, the #powerofrural lies in innovative solutions.
“As a funder, improving rural health means to think outside the box and deploy our funding differently than we have historically -- which sometimes means funding differently than we do in the urban communities we serve. Addressing health equity and decreasing health inequities in our rural communities requires us to listen to our rural partners about what works best for their community, who their key stakeholders are, and how best to deploy resources. We simply cannot apply our standard way of funding in our rural communities and expect that we will improve health. We must deepen our partnerships, increase our investments, and tailor funding so that our nonprofit partners can do the work that is culturally appropriate to meet rural needs.”

4 Ways to Give Back on Giving Tuesday
It’s more important than it ever has been to show up for our communities.

  1. Give to the organizations that you love most – no amount is too little and nonprofits need our support.
  2. Support your local community fridge or pantry by volunteering or donating goods
  3. Help out small businesses by buying gift cards or writing an online review.
  4. Combat loneliness by reaching out to a neighbor, relative, seniors or veterans.

Caregiver Program Provides Relief for Alzheimer's and Dementia Caregivers
As dementia progresses, care costs continue to change. The Alzheimer’s Association (AA) recommends putting financial plans in place at the time of diagnosis to best prepare for the future as insurance may not cover all costs.

The AA Greater Missouri Chapter’s Caregiver Relief Program includes Care Consultations which take a whole-person, whole-family approach to creating a customized, comprehensive needs assessment. The result is an individualized action plan to address unmet needs and link caregivers with a cadre of resources and community support. The Caregiver Relief Program also reimburses caregivers up to $700 for qualified respite-related services.
