The Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association 2022 annual report showing that Alberta’s technology and innovation sector broke records for a fourth straight year, attracting $729 million in investments in 2022, a 30 per cent increase over 2021.

The Community Facility Enhancement Program will be resourced with $31.3 million to help upgrade or build 226 public-use facilities across Alberta. The Community Initiatives Program is resourced with $7 million to support non-profit organizations to help deliver programs and projects that create local jobs, support social causes, recreation and culture activities, and create opportunities for Albertans to engage with their communities.
Strengthening Alberta's Rural Communities
The Economic Development in Rural Alberta Plan has a strategic focus on rural economic capacity building. Capacity building grants totaling $2.1 million will help recipients support businesses and municipalities with resources to enhance economic development opportunities in rural Alberta.
