Connections Cafe

Raising Resilience's FREE virtual parent support program brings parents, grandparents, educators, and caretakers together to address priority parenting topics as we navigate the parenting journey. Registration is required for meeting access. Visit raisingresilience.org for a list of past sessions and to access our video library.

Note About This Hybrid Session: In-person participation is limited to 50 people. You will be prompted to select your preference: attend in-person or via zoom. Once the in-person spots have been filled, we will let everyone know and other registrants may tune in live via Zoom. This session will also be recorded.

The pandemic was a call to action for many grandparents and it accelerated a shift in modern grandparenting. In acknowledgement of this shift, Raising Resilience has invited one of our favorite speakers, nationally acclaimed author and speaker, Clay Roberts, to address grandparents with an interactive FREE session on how they can use Developmental Assets to impact healthy youth development.

Referencing Search Institute's framework, Clay will offer practical strategies (including storytelling and modeling) that grandparents can easily put into action with their grandchildren.

You’ll leave this session knowing how to do the following with your grandkid(s) –

  1. Strengthen your relationship
  2. Teach them how to say “NO”
  3. Teach them how to shift peer pressure
  4. Model your decision-making process
  5. Demonstrate positive values

As we progress through a new program year, we invite you to make a donation to help keep this program going. Your contribution will help us reach more parents with education, resources, and connections that help families thrive. Donations help cover a portion of the cost to produce CONNECTIONS CAFE and bring nationally acclaimed speakers and documentaries.

When parents feel supported and empowered with the tools they need to build resilience in themselves and their children, our youth can thrive, and our community can grow stronger. THANK YOU!
