I am so pleased to see so many sponsors for our #CAHEPRD23 Conference this year! Some new sponsor friends have come into the fold, and many of our longtime sponsor family members have returned. Be sure to check all the vendors out at our Exhibit Hall!
Thank you to Nadia Moya who has worked this year as our Exhibit and Sponsor Director. She has quickly learned the role to assist CAHPERD and we are very grateful for her work.
I want to thank Barbara Ann Buckalew for her many hours of work with CAHPERD. She remains an invaluable asset to CAHPERD.
We have a great conference planned. The conference planners consist of Desirae Feria and Paige Metz and the conference manager is Dareen Khatib. The complete conference team consists of so many people and I apologize because I am sure to leave someone off. Allyson Reeds, Jessica Monlux, Matthew Bassett, Kathryn Russell, Will Potter, and Tonya Moore each have roles that help this conference come together and function. Thank you!
Lastly, I am reminded that sometimes even during a storm, and soon after, there is sunshine. We have weathered some events both physically as a state also as an organization recently. We pull together, we connect, and we build bridges to the other side of these moments. CAHPERD is more than a conference, more than an event, and more than advocacy. CAHPERD is professionally a moment of sunshine where we can relate to professional and personal struggles and learn and grow from them together.

Please visit the CAHPERD website and log-in to your account to view candidate bios and gain access to the electronic ballot for the CAHPERD Board of Directors.
From the home page, hover on the ABOUT tab and then select CAHPERD Elections from the drop-down menu.
Due to current conditions, all voting will take place electronically! (Note: if you are unable to access the ballot, your membership is probably due for renewal!)
After the conference, we will hold a special election for Council Positions.

Hello CAHPERD Members!
Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help CAHPERD?
Well, they can, and here’s how…Our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell; All we need is your support and gently worn, used, or new sneakers!
The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
Can we count on you? Bring as many pairs of sneakers as you no longer want to the 2023 CAHPERD Conference, March 9-11, 2023! There will be collection bags by the registration table. Please help us fill those bags!
Too many sneakers to bring with you? No problem! You can still support our Sneaker Drive by registering with GotSneakers at https://gotsneakers.com/individual-sellers/ and registering as an individual seller, include our name “CAHPERD” and our registered email: reception@cahperd.org on the form, so we get credit for your sneakers!
They will send you a bag with a prepaid shipping label! Once you register with GotSneakers, you can start cleaning out your closets! Fill up at least one (1) full sneaker collection bag (10-15 pairs). If you want to take your sneaker recycling efforts to the next level, fill up all five (5) sneaker collection bags! If you want to continue to support our fundraiser campaign, contact support@gotsneakers.com to request more bags!

CSU Long Beach's CAPE (Certification in Adapted Physical Education) master scholar, Elsie Gutierrez (APE teacher, Los Angeles Unified School District), will be compiling APE activities that will be published by CAHPERD (with collaboration from State Council on APE [SCAPE]) in a spiral-bound book.
