This is the QR Code to the NWCA Website.

A QR code stands for "Quick Response" and when you use your smartphone to take a photo of the code a display will be shown which is a link. You can go to the website by clicking the link instead of having to type in the information and manually search.

The first QR code system was invented in 1994 by the Japanese company Denso Wave, a Toyota subsidiary.

Standard barcodes can only be read in one direction – top to bottom. That means they can only store a small amount of information, usually in an alphanumeric format. But a QR code is read in two directions – top to bottom and right to left. This allows it to house significantly more data.

The data stored in a QR code can include website URLs, phone numbers, or up to 4,000 characters of text.

Market Message from NWCA Events Director Wendy Waters

Last year we had 15 Hippie Market vendors to invite to participate in our local markets at the beginning of the spring season. That list has grown rapidly to 52 vendors to draw from this year to hopefully create some great Hippie Markets through 2023. We hosted our first one on Feb 11 aka our Valentine’s Day market. Many people attended the market at Killiney Beach Hall and found some great items to share with their loved ones.

We had 5 vendors attend for their first time and want to come back for more fun. I would like to thank Cadi Middleton who stepped up and was the point person at the Hall for the event. She did a masterful job, and donations were graciously offered from a variety of our loyal vendors to help create door prizes at the St Patty’s Day Dance. Thank you to our loyal vendors Sashah Harrison (Kotan Candles) and Marge Anderson who have attended every market to date and always lead with their generosity and helpful suggestions for improving our markets for all.

We have members of our Youth Group (boys and girls ages 12 to 16) interested in offering to be a Reading Buddy - for 30 minutes once or twice a month on Saturday afternoons at the Community Library.

NWCA BUSINESS AND SERVICES EXPO

APRIL 15 - 11 am to 3 pm

Killiney Beach Community Hall

A new event this year is the Small Business Expo scheduled for April 15 at Killiney Beach Hall. We have come to realize that many of our neighbors and friends are brilliant entrepreneurs and have a desire to service the community and make it better resourced. From local landscapers and construction professionals to beauty and health experts and businesses that offer valuable services needed for our pets and children. We have an array of professional people in the fields of accounting, home sales and inspection, photographers, and marketing experts. We also have a plethora of Home Care professionals from cleaning your home, chimney, gutters, vents, septic tanks, pools and spa, and windows to painters, insecticide experts as well as plumbers, electricians and gas experts. …and more!

We are hosting our first Business Expo so that the public can come and meet with some of the professionals and entrepreneurs available and know that many of their needs can be met within our NWCA community. I look forward to putting together this inaugural event to support both the business owners and the homeowners. Imagine that you can collect business cards from people that live minutes from your home at one venue. Take some of the stress away…we all know that running a household has problems…come meet your problem solvers on April 15 at Killiney Beach Hall. It’s always nice to put faces to names we hear and build a stronger connection. See you at the Hall. - Message from Wendy Waters

MARCH 2023 MOON CALENDAR

THE FULL WORM MOON

The full moon in March will be on Tuesday March 7, 2023 7:40 AM EST or 12:40 PM UTC. The March 7th full moon will be the third full moon of 2023 and the full moon in Virgo.

The name of the March 2023 full moon is the Full Worm Moon. This full moon name is inspired by the time of the year when the earthworms start to reappear as the ground thaws at the end of the winter. The birds start to come back as spring approaches, with the Spring Equinox that happens each year towards the end of March.

Other nicknames for the March Full Moon include: Sap Moon, Crow Moon, Chaste Moon, Sugar Moon, and Lenten Moon.

In 2023, the March Full Moon will be the third full moon of the winter 2022-2023 season. It will be the third and last full moon after the Winter Solstice in 2022. The Vernal or Spring equinox marks the beginning of astronomical spring and the end of astronomical winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

In 2023, the Vernal Equinox will be Monday March 20, 2023 5:25 PM EDT or 9:25 PM UTC. Depending on the year, the Full Worm Moon could occur either at the end of Winter or the beginning of Spring. In 2023 it will be part of the Winter season.
