4 BY 4 BREWING CELEBRATES GROUNDBREAKING IN FREMONT HILLS
Christian County continues to grow with the addition of 4 By 4 Brewing Company to the Fremont Hills community. We were happy to partner with the City of Fremont Hills and the Nixa and Ozark Chambers of Commerce to welcome 4 By 4 to their new location. The groundbreaking ceremony took place Aug. 26, with construction set to begin very soon.

4 By 4 Brewing stands for 4 Husbands by 4 Wives, referring to the four couples who founded the business in 2017. We are excited for 4 By 4's growth and can't wait for the addition of a new brewery to Christian County. The original Springfield location will remain open and active in the Galloway area, and the Fremont Hills location is projected to open in Summer 2022.

PARDON OUR PROGRESS - WE'RE GROWING!

Over the past few months, Show Me Christian County has been in full growth mode. We're working to support new businesses, increase resources, and cultivate expansion opportunities, all while creating internal processes to sustain your investment. Our momentum is strong and our mission is clear.

This week, we celebrated with our friends at 4 By 4 Brewing as they broke ground on the Fremont Hills brewery, event center, and taproom. We have two more groundbreaking events in the works, totaling more than $4.6 million in capital investment in Christian County. Both new projects are start-ups, and our organization has been walking alongside these clients helping to refine their business plan and solidify projections for their funding. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months!

This spring, we announced that a market study grant had been awarded to the community of Ozark, made possible by our partnership with the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments. SMCC staff have been meeting weekly with the consultant on this study, and next week we will host Thomas P. Miller and Associates for a comprehensive tour of the community. The study should be completed and ready to review by October.

The organization is now fully staffed with the addition of Jenn Torres as a part-time Administrative Assistant. Mark Wallace, Vice President of Workforce Development, is in the process of refining the Christian County WORKS scope of services, defining the role for our organization to serve as the local liaison between business and education. In addition to workforce development, Anna Evans, Vice President of Business Retention and Expansion, has been working with the Show Me Strong Business Council gathering first-hand information of the business climate across Christian County. Resiliency is top of mind for all business owners and community stakeholders.

As you can see in our newest staff photo, growth is happening all across the county. Progress can be messy, and it takes all organizations working together to accomplish the central goal of moving Christian County forward. If you’re interested in more details, you can review our staff report and business retention and expansion reports linked below. It is an honor to serve the communities of Christian County, and I am continually humbled by the opportunity. Thank you all for believing in the organization and our mission.

Keep moving forward,

Andrea Sitzes

RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE:
SETTING PRIORITIES
The Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG) has partnered with Show Me Christian County to facilitate the creation of a long-term COVID-19 recovery and resiliency action plan.

The planning process will help evaluate the county’s progress in economic recovery and resilience to future adverse events. Formation of the recovery plan will continue through fall 2021.

YOUR FEEDBACK NEEDED:
Please be on the lookout for a business recovery survey coming your way soon to assist us in the recovery plan process. Survey responses will allow SMCOG to compare Christian County’s economic recovery data with other communities and regions nationwide.
CHMURA DATABASE ALLOWS DEEP DIVE INTO LOCAL, REGIONAL, NATIONAL DATA
We are excited to announce the integration of industry-leading tools to the growth initiatives of Christian County! JobsEQ+, powered by Chmura, helps site selectors and economic developers like SMCC identify unique workforce characteristics within our communities and provide quality data by describing current industry and demographic trends and targeted occupation and labor market information. Designed and developed with data governance as the priority, Chmura economists and data scientists ensure that these tools provide credible data.

Through Christian County WORKS, we will use JobsEQ+ to deliver data-driven empirical evidence that our region’s workforce has the skills they need, and use charts, tables, and maps to help tell the story of our growth. We can now run in-house reports for local and regional workforce data, industry trends, and much more. Reports can be localized down to the census block level. We are thrilled to offer this resource to our communities!

Want immediate access to some great insights? Check out Chmura's blog, packed with up-to-date workforce data, COVID-19 economic impacts, and more.
