Dear Hotchkiss Families,
We are pleased to announce that Hotchkiss has been able to form a special partnership with Choate Rosemary Hall, Loomis Chaffee School, Taft School, and Westminster School that will allow us to offer a limited schedule of varsity-level competitions this spring. This is made possible by the fact that each of these schools follows similar health standards and has committed to adhering to common safety measures. These stringent requirements give us confidence that we can engage in interscholastic play while maintaining the safety of our student athletes. We remain open to the possibility that other schools may also join in this partnership.
Health and weather conditions permitting, we anticipate scheduling modified games and scrimmages on weekends (only), beginning mid-April. We will strive to schedule 6-8 contests for each varsity team. However, by nature of the sports involved, some may compete more frequently than others.
Each school will livestream as many competitions as possible so that parents, students, and friends will be able to watch and cheer their teams on virtually. Unfortunately, spectators and campus visitors will not be allowed at contests.
As always, Hotchkiss is committed to providing a rigorous athletic program for all student athletes and will continue to offer JV, thirds, and other athletes intersquad opportunities for on-campus play. We are thrilled to see the return of interscholastic competition on our fields, course, courts, and lake, and look forward to cheering on our Bearcats this spring! As we move forward, we anticipate that we will need to adjust and adapt our schedule, so please check the website frequently for the most up-to-date information.
