School Photo Day(s) Next Week!
Remember, school photos will be taken this upcoming week, Monday November 8th through Thursday November 11th! Please find your child's scheduled date below, listed by their class teacher. Homeschool will have photos taken on the day the student is typically in school.

We will take both individual and class photos that can be purchased from our wonderful photographer, Teresa Lee. If you have not yet received an order form, you will find it HERE. Please turn forms into teachers or at the front desk no later than November 11th at 9 am.

Photos will be taken in the garden, so please have your child dress accordingly for our November weather.
Lantern Walks
As daylight gets shorter and nights grow colder, we head outdoors for the Lantern Walks with our younger grades next week. This beloved tradition in Waldorf schools is a reverent event celebrating the wonder and inspiration of the light that lives within each of us.

Next week, November 8-12, students and families will gather peacefully in song, story and unity as the glowing lanterns represent our inner light that guides our way. Teachers of grades K-3 will communicate plans for their class Lantern Walk directly with families.

May our lanterns kindle the warmth of our spirits with compassion, kindness, and generosity as we transition into the change of seasons.

Join our very own Ms. Gina and 8th grade student Nova, to learn how to make paper mâché lanterns. Click here or here to watch their feature yesterday morning on Fox 21’s Family411.
Daylight Savings Time Ends November 7
This Sunday November 7th, we will set our clocks back one hour at 2:00am, as Daylight Saving Time ends. Although we can all get some extra rest, it does mean adjustments to our circadian rhythms and sleep schedules.

Please consider easing this effect on your children by adjusting sleep schedules in smaller increments over the next few days, while keeping their routines consistent and predictable. And remember general sleep care, such as:

  • Making sure children get exercise during the day;
  • No screen time at least 2 hours before bedtime;
  • Maintaining dark during sleep;
  • Letting light in when it’s time to wake up; and
  • Healthy eating habits.

Congratulations to Mr. Adam!
Congratulations to Mr. Adam Wright, who was honored as a finalist for the Mayor’s Young Leader Awards in Education on October 28th at the annual awards ceremony. This year the Mayor’s Young Leader Awards saw a record number of nominations, as educators like Mr. Adam stepped up in unprecedented ways, and we are not surprised that he stood out among the crowd. We are so grateful for everything he does for our Agricultural Arts program, our students, and our school community. Cheers to you, Mr. Adam!
