Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Monday, November 9, 2020, the Chartiers Valley School District was notified that a member/members of the High School community tested positive for COVID-19. The case is unrelated to in-school transmission.

As always, the District continues our communication and collaboration with the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD).  As we continue to monitor COVID-19 cases in our region, the District and the ACHD are closely surveying the potential nexus within the Chartiers Valley School District. At this time, school closure is not recommended.

The District has worked with the Allegheny County Health Department to identify students and staff who may have had close contact (less than six feet for more than fifteen minutes) with the individual(s). Those affected will be contacted directly by CV Nurse Michele Opferman and/or the Allegheny County Health Department.

The individual(s) who tested positive, as well as those who have been in close contact, will not be present in school buildings for the duration of their quarantine, as directed by the Allegheny County Health Department.

We encourage you to continue watching your child/children closely for symptoms. As a reminder, if your child experiences any of the symptoms listed below, please contact Michelle Opferman, Nursing Department Head at 412-429-2269 or mopferman@cvsd.net, as well as your healthcare provider.
