Dear PARA Member,
The Port Authority will be streaming a live interfaith service at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 11 to remember our 84 colleagues who were killed nineteen years ago in the terrorist attacks on The World Trade Center. The victims of the 1993 bombing will also be honored at this service. You will be able to tune in from either the Port Authority's website --- www.panynj.gov --- or from the Port Authority's Facebook page --- www.Facebook.com/panynj.
Though we cannot gather in person in this time of COVID-19, you can tune in as a way to remember our fallen friends and colleagues on September 11. If you cannot watch that day, the Port Authority will keep the video on its website through September.
Towers One and Two were struck respectively, at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m. on September 11, 2001. PA staff and many others will be observing moments of silence at those times. The Port Authority will fly flags at half-staff at its facilities in memory of the 2,977 people killed that day.
These are such difficult times for so many people. We hope that the sense of a Port Authority community in some way can be a source of support. Thank you for being a part of this community.
Very sincerely,
Your PARA Board
