Oriental Lodge No. 33

January 11th 2023

Dear Brothers, Friends and Visitors,

As we look ahead to the coming year, I want to express my deep hope and excitement for all that we can accomplish together as a lodge. Though the past few years have been filled with challenges, I believe that our shared commitment to brotherhood and the principles of Freemasonry will see us through to better days.

In the coming year, let us rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement, to the strengthening of our bonds of brotherhood, and to the service of our communities. As we work together to achieve these goals, I am confident that we will find new opportunities for growth and fulfillment, both as individuals and as a lodge.

As we begin a new year in the life of our lodge, let us be inspired by the words of the masonic thinker, Albert Pike: “Be thou the husband of wisdom, and she will bear thee children of understanding.”

One of our main goals for the new year is to reconnect with members who have been away for awhile. We miss you and would love to have you back in the Lodge, sharing in the camaraderie and brotherhood that we all cherish. If you've been away for a bit, please know that you are always welcome, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Our next Special Meeting, on the 24th, we will confer the 1st Degree on worthy candidates. It would be a great time to reconnect and support our soon to be brothers.

As always, we have a number of fantastic events planned throughout the year, including educational lectures, social gatherings, and community service projects. We encourage you to get involved and make the most of your membership.

In the spirit of brotherhood, let's make this new year one to remember!

Fraternally,

Message from the Senior Warden

Brothers,

As I mentioned in the last Stated Meeting, our dear brother Tyler, Jesus Vasquez recently suffered a tragic loss in his family. His niece Sandra Vasquez passed away suddenly on January 7th, 2023, leaving behind two teenaged children. The family has setup a a fund for donations which we will contribute to as a lodge. If you would like to make a donation please Zelle / Quickpay: Oriental.Lodge.33@gmail.com or arrange other payment with the secretary. Please make a note in the payment that this is for the Vasquez fund.

Point within a Circle with the Saint's John

The symbol of a single point within a circle represents the balance between an individual's duty to the Grand Architect and their fellow man. The individual, represented by the point, should stay within the boundaries of the circle, refraining from allowing personal desires and motivations to cause them to stray from their duty.

In Freemasonry, the Saints John are traditionally associated with the biblical figures John the Baptist and John the Evangelist. These figures are often referenced in Masonic ritual and symbolism, and their feast days (June 24th and December 27th, respectively) are considered special days of observance for Masons.

In the context of the craft, the Double headed eagle of St. John ,which is a symbol of the Two Saints, is depicted to represent the need of balance and harmony between the spiritual and the temporal aspects of human life.
