Transportation Community Events
LAKEWAY TOWN HALL:
The City of Lakeway will host another Town Hall Series with City Manager Julie Oakley on Thursday, April 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lakeway Activity Center located at 105 Cross Creek. This Town Hall will focus on Transportation. City Manager Julie Oakley will give a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m., and then residents will be able to visit different stations to view future and potential transportation projects, including projects on pedestrian connectivity, road widening options, road reconstruction proposals and potential culvert improvements. There will also be a table outlining the future RM 620 widening project. Since this is an interactive town hall, the event will not be livestreamed, but the introduction will be recorded and posted online following the event. There is also a section on their website to submit comments virtually. The draft plan currently includes a section listing the expansion of RM 620 (page 43 of this document). Comments will be accepted until April 25, 2022.
Earth Day Volunteer Event
Earth Day will take place on Friday, April 22, and the City of Lakeway is celebrating the special day with a community clean-up event. We are looking for volunteers to help pick up trash in some of our area parks and along some of our local roadways from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. next Friday. Volunteers will meet at Lakeway City Hall where they will be supplied with trash pickers, gloves, trash bags and a map, and then sent out in teams to help pick up trash. It's also a chance to get to know some of our Lakeway staff, who will have tables set up with some Earth-day focused educational materials. Light snacks will also be provided. If you are interested and haven't already filled out a short volunteer form, please CLICK HERE. More information will be emailed to volunteers early next week about any last minute details. We hope you can join us for this special event to celebrate Earth Day!
Lakeway Directory
The Lakeway Civic Corporation offers a free Lakeway Residents Directory every year. The directory is available in print and also online, and includes information on resident names, contact information, along with a business directory section. Their upcoming 50th anniversary edition will be released soon. If you would like to make sure you're included, or if you need to update your information in the directory, please CLICK HERE.
