Grassroots Assistance—ISRI provides members with legislator contacts and grassroots organization tools for issue advocacy campaigns, including assistance setting up legislator-constituent meetings (in the absence of a state lobbyist), writing or preparing for legislative testimony, providing centralized facts sheets, and many other sources of industry expertise.
 
State Lobbyist Issues Education & Chapter Membership Advocacy Training Programs—ISRI offers both coordinated and separate state chapter membership training and state lobbyist continuing education programs, all with a harmonized industry message designed to strengthen and ensure ISRI remains the industry’s primary voice through effective advocacy that educates policymakers on the business of recycling.
 
Economic Impact Study—This resource offers an interactive map and database that provides information on the scrap recycling industry’s local, state, and national economic impact.
 
COVID-19 State and Local Dashboard—Conveys to ISRI members information on state COVID-19 business resources and closure orders as well as reports on state and local government COVID-19 responses, including legislative steps and emergency executive orders, vaccine requirements, and next steps.
 
ISRI Positions on State Policy Issues—Members can use this resource to access ISRI’s board-approved positions on a variety of important issues, such as plastic bags, product stewardship, flow control, right-to-reuse for electronics, artificial turf and rubber infill, and more.
 
State Metals Theft Law Database—This public resource helps visitors—including legislators, law enforcement officials, recyclers, and others—understand each state’s metals theft laws and allows them to generate pre-made or custom reports on the states and provisions that interest them.
