Homecoming 2020
“Staycation”

Homecoming 2020 will look a little different this year. We will have a “Staycation” Spirit Week October 19 - October 22. The Hallsville Indians will take on the Boonville Pirates on Friday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. for the 2020 Homecoming Game! With current county restrictions, Homecoming events have been modified, and game attendance restrictions are still in place. King and Queen candidates will be announced during halftime. Check Facebook Live that night for the coronation!

HHS Fine Arts Presents a Musical Showcase
October 22 & 24

Join the HHS Choir and Drama Departments as they present a Musical Showcase featuring songs and skits from Hamilton, Be More Chill, Dear Evan Hansen, and more! 
Performances are on Thursday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. at the Hallsville Baptist Church. This is a donation and ticketed only performance. If you are interested in attending one or more of the showings, fill out this form and your name will be entered into a random drawing for up to 2 tickets for each performance selected. On Friday the 16th, we will draw for tickets, and all winners will be contacted via email.  
School Picture Retake Day
Monday, October 26

School pictures have arrived! Inside your child’s picture package you will find a re-order slip. You can use this slip to order additional prints or photo gifts at inter-state.com.

Retake Day is scheduled for Monday, October 26. If your child would like to have their picture retaken, you'll need to send the complete original picture package back to school with your child. Please check your email a few days after pictures to order pictures online!  

All virtual students are invited to Hallsville Primary School from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. to have their picture taken. They may enter through the gymnasium lobby. Only students will be allowed to enter the building.  If you have any questions, please email [email protected]

The Hallsville Area Chamber of Commerce is again seeking nominations for the 2020 Educator of the Year. If you are interested in nominating a teacher from our District who displays dedication, motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment, please see the form posted on Peachjar.

Board of Education 
October Meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Hallsville R-IV Board of Education is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the secondary cafeteria. During board meetings, individual members of the Board of Education and the Superintendent are regular participants in an open public meeting. Other individuals, most frequently administrators and employees of the District, may be scheduled to make presentations as indicated on the agenda.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Week of October 26-30

Parent Teacher Conferences will take place the week of October 26-30. Each building will be reaching out to families soon with ways to schedule a meeting on your child’s progress. Conferences are a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and share your child’s strengths and needs.

Hallsville Youth Opportunities & Events

Scholastic Book Fair
The Hallsville Primary and Intermediate Schools are hosting a parking lot Book Fair on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Intermediate front lot! Books will be available for preschoolers through fifth grade students to purchase. Please come out and support our schools! Face coverings and social distancing will be expected for all shoppers! You can also order online here

Join the Hallsville Park Board on Saturday, October 17 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for a drive through Trick or Treating event at Tribble Park! Have your kids put on their costumes, pull up in your car, and let your kids get some treats! This event is free and open to the public. All participants must come in a vehicle and remain in their car at all times.  

Load up the family and join us for the Socket Spooktacular Balloon Glow on Sunday, October 25 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Hallsville Fairgrounds. Enjoy sites of glowing hot air balloons as you drive through the grounds. There will be a free goodie bag of candy at the end for the kids.
$5 raffle tickets available for purchase to be entered to win a tablet! All proceeds will go to the Police Foundation of Hallsville. Visit missouriballoon.com for additional information. See you there!

Check out a list of kid’s events happening at Daniel Boone Regional Library! From taking a cemetery tour, learning about the electoral college, or listening to spine-tingling tales, there is something for kids of all ages!

The Food Bank of Central & Northeast Missouri is providing food at no charge to those in need. The Hallsville Drive Up Pantry is scheduled on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at Hallsville Baptist Church. The next food pick-up date is Tuesday, October 27. Please contact the church at 573-696-3621 the third week of the month to set up an appointment. 

Check out the Hallsville Farmers & Artisans Market on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Tribble Park. Shop for local fresh produce, beef, herbs, jellies, elderberry juice, bath products, and more!
