Black History Month

February is Black History Month.

We recognize the stories and history of our Black brothers and sisters, acknowledging that the version of history we have learned is not always the one that represents the truth.

For more race, equity and inclusion resources, or to find reading materials on Black history, visit our webpage at cobbcollaborative.org/rei

Funding and Resource Opportunities
The Children’s Initiative provides support to direct service programs throughout the United States that promote resilience, stability, and pyscho-social health for youth ages 14 to 21 who have been traumatized by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Eligible programs must:
  • directly serve youth who have been significantly traumatized by ACEs,
  • offer age-appropriate therapeutic interventions,
  • provide services that go beyond crisis intervention,
  • include a plan for evaluating program effectiveness,
  • enhance the relationship between the child and at least one significant adult,
  • be a new program or a new therapeutic component to an existing program, and
  • use trauma-informed practices.
  • A Stage 1 application must be submitted to advance to Stage 2 and be considered for funding. Visit the Foundation’s website to learn more about the funding guidelines and application process.

The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program, Homeless Female Veterans’ and Veterans’ with Families Program, and Incarcerated Veterans’ Transition Program support services to:
  • reintegrate homeless veterans into the labor force by placing them into family sustaining employment, and
  • stimulate the development of effective service delivery systems that will address the complex problems facing homeless veterans.
Grant recipients will provide an array of client-centered services utilizing a case management approach that directly assists homeless veterans and provides critical linkages to a variety of support services available in their local communities. Visit Grants.gov to learn more about the funding guidelines.

This grant program provides funding for communities to address violence against children. Funds may be used to develop support services for children exposed to violence in their homes, schools, and communities. Funds may also develop, enhance, and implement violent crime reduction strategies that focus on violent juvenile offenders. Support is also available for training and technical assistance to assist with program implementation and direct service activities. Visit Grants.gov to learn more about the funding guidelines.

Thanks to Collaborative member 4A Good Cause for bringing a capacity-building resource to our community. While virtual events remain the safe way to engage donors, see how you can still raise sponsorships in your important work. Register for this webinar on Thursday, February 25 now.
