June 2020
A note from the Artistic Director
Better late than never!
Hi everyone,

Time seems to stop and then race ahead and then it feels like we're moving backwards in time even. I guess you could label these "Crazy" times, except everything that is happening is VERY important to absorb, reflect on and take action against. But all at the same time? Yes, we are being challenged to think and experience several things at the same time and that's why it feels overwhelming and confusing at times. Is it wrong to feel contradictory feelings? I don't think so. It's just more difficult and hence, this is why I'm so late in sending out this June Newsletter.

The good news is that we do have news, and some new programing to offer so I'll get right to it.

First off, please do check out our new website. We've been working on it daily and it's not finished by any means. But it's definitely fresh and I think you will like it.

The one event in June that I'd like to tell you about is another collaboration coming up between the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts and the American Tap Dance Foundation. Mercedes Ellington and I are co-hosting another Zoom Concert celebrating the music of Duke Ellington on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21st at 4pm. There will be appearances by numerous musicians, vocalists and dancers, and I know it will be up lifting. So please join us! There's a link below.

Meanwhile, July will be VERY busy as we start up an On-line Adult Program of classes. See the link below for that schedule. YOU ASKED FOR IT! WE DELIVER!

And during the week of July 6-10, 2020, what would have been Tap City, we have lined up a number of events that you might be interested in participating in. (see Shows & Events Schedule & Links below)

Hope to see everyone soon, as usual keep safe, keep healthy and in the spirit of tap dance....please keep time.
