Teenagers in Grades 8-12 are invited to participate in a multi-faceted ministry at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church. You're encouraged to join Youth Director Rick Belbutoski and other adult leaders for a variety of ministries, events, and ways to serve your neighbor in the name of Jesus Christ.
Hello Hennepin Youth and Families,

This week has been a tough one, as the Hennepin Youth group is just beginning to grieve the loss of Sean Carroll. I only got to know Sean for just over a year, but every story I've heard the last few days has just reinforce what I already knew about this incredible young man. He had a pure heart, and a desire for others to have what they need. He loved movies and camp, sushi and burgers. His witness, during his short life, was immense, and his ministry at Hennepin has had incalculable impact.

Understandably, the Carroll family has asked for privacy right now, and we should continue to respect that. However, for those of you who want to share love, support, and memories of Sean, please send your card to me at the church by Sunday Oct. 25th and I will make sure it gets to the Carroll family.

Donate Candy and Volunteer for Trunk or Treat Today!

Trunk or Treat 2020 will provide a unique opportunity for us to support our neighborhood. Even with a pandemic, we have plans to create an event that will still be a blessing to dozens of families, while still keeping them safe.

Please read through the opportunities to be involved listed below, and decide how you'd like to participate in this important event.

Trunk host - Individuals, families, and local organizations are invited to decorate trunks. Local organizations will have the opportunity to share information about their services with those who attend. All trunks will be entered to win the prize for "Favorite Trunk, "Scariest Trunk", and "Funniest Trunk,' as voted on by those who attend.

Event Usher - Due to Covid-19, this year's event will be held completely outdoors. We still anticipate a large number of guests, and it's going to require people who are willing to mask up and help others stay safe while enjoying this year's event.

Still time to join Youth Book Club

We realized that Wednesday 10/7 was going to be a tough night for many youth to participate in our first monthly book club meeting, so we've decided to postpone. Help us reschedule by sharing when you'd be available for a virtual book club meeting. Even if you don't have the book yet, it's not too late. I'll get a copy out to you in the next few days if you want to join in.
