Court Tentatively Declares California Governor's
Abuse of Power Unconstitutional
In October, California Assemblymen Kevin Kiley and James Gallagher sued to stop Governor Gavin Newsom’s “one-man rule.” They argued the governor had exceeded his emergency powers in issuing Executive Orders having nothing to do with the coronavirus pandemic crisis. On Monday, November 2nd, State Superior Court Judge Sarah Heckman tentatively ruled in favor of their abuse of power lawsuit against Governor Newsom.
CA Mayors Call on Newsom to Reopen Theme Parks Sooner
On October 30th, Mayor Harry Sidhu and eight members of California's Big City Mayors Coalition sent a letter to the Governor regarding the safe re-opening protocols for large theme parks. “We are concerned that the state’s guidelines would push re-opening of large theme parks up to a year out, which would have significant negative impacts on hundreds of thousands of jobs, thousands of small businesses, and billions in operating revenue for our cities.”
All Toll Roads Affected by Silverado Fire Fully Reopen
All sections of the 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads are now open for transit.

Californians age 70 or older with a noncommercial driver’s license are now eligible to renew online or by mail. Licenses with an expiration date starting March 1 are eligible (this was previously limited to December 31‚ 2020). Questions or need help?
Orange County’s COVID-19 Child Care Relief Program Now Accepting Applications
Orange County’s COVID-19 Child Care Relief Program began accepting applications through Friday, November 13 at 5:00 PM. The $5 million grant program, approved by the Board of Supervisors last week, is intended to assist child care businesses and nonprofits that have been affected by COVID-19.
